Malibu

Lately I've been making frequent trips to Malibu.  Our wedding venue is nearby so we usually have lunch in Malibu after our visits.  We've been exploring the area more each time, which has been really fun.  We plan on putting together a list of our favorite things to do and eat for when our guests are in town for the wedding.  Here's some places we've gone to so far.

Malibu Farm Cafe/Restaurant
This cute cafe sits right on the pier.  If you're sitting outside you definitely get a nice view.  There was a really long line down the pier when we arrived.  I'm sure this happens every weekend.  There's actually two restaurants on the pier, Malibu Farm Cafe and Malibu Farm Restaurant.  The cafe doesn't take reservations, but the restaurant does.  I went to the cafe but I'm sure the restaurant is just as cute!

Grom
I'm a sucker for sweets and I've had this gelato place bookmarked for about two or three years now. This place originated in Italy and all the fruits that they use are grown there as well.  I had the pistachio and hazelnut flavors, which were delicious!

Malibu Country Mart
Grom is actually located inside this plaza.  The Malibu Country Mart has a mixture of eateries and retail stores.  There's also a playground in the middle for the little ones.  It's also across the street from the beach which is convenient.  Eat, shop, and relax.

I finished my food before realizing I didn't snap a photo.  That's how hungry I was.  I guess discussing how tables should be arranged and where your ceremony and reception should go really works up an appetite.  I had the avocado egg sandwich with sausage and the fiance had the sausage skillet.  I'm not big on bread but their sourdough bread was so good!

I'm still nine months away from the wedding so I'm sure there will be more Malibu updates to come!
